Commonly Requested Services

Home Inspection and REport

Many homeowners want to know the structural integrity of a home. We  come out and look at the property including the crawlspace, roof, floor, and walls to determine if the structure is sound. Many homeowners will be satisfied with a verbal report at that point. If, however, the structure has issues that need to be remediated, or you want something in writing with an official stamp, it can be provided for an additional charge. If the deck has issues that will need to be addressed, our team provides specific details in the form of a letter which you would take to a contractor to complete the work. After the work is done we can come out and provide reinspection with report confirming the work was done to code and is structurally sound. We recommend using only bonded and licensed contractors for your work.

Deck Certifications

The city of Virginia Beach requires all short-term rental properties that have decks to have them certified by a structural engineer. We will review the health of the deck and either certify it or create specific documentation to remediate the issues. That information would be provided by you to a contractor of your choice to remediate. We can then come out to certify the deck and provide occupancy details.
